If you own your own truck and it's in desperate need of refurbishing, you might want to check out Castrol's Web site to find out how to sign up for an exterior/interior truck makeover.
This is the second year Castrol is sponsoring the Castrol Tection Extra Big Honkin' Truck Makeover contest, valued at $50,000. All you need is a color photo of your ailing truck, which must weigh more than 10,000 pounds (Class 3-8), and a 50-word original essay describing why your truck deserves to win the makeover.
Entries will be accepted through Oct. 31. Visit Castrol's Web site at www.castrol.com/truckmakeover for additional contest rules and registration information.
Last year, OOIDA member Jeff Fields of Tully, NY, was the contest's big winner. Fields' truck, a newly-customized 1979 Peterbilt Classic 352H cabover, will be featured at the Great American Trucking Show (GATS), held Aug. 24-26, at the Dallas Convention Center.
GATS attendees can also register to win a new Ford F-150 Power Wheels pickup truck. The raffle will be held on the final day of the show on Aug. 26.
