The 17-year-old boy who allegedly killed one man and wounded another in highway sniper attacks in Indiana has pleaded not guilty.

According to The Associated Press, Zachariah Blanton entered the plea, even though police say he confessed to the shootings.

An Indiana State Police officer testified in court Wednesday, July 26, that Blanton said he shot at two pickups, a tractor-trailer and an SUV as a way of “relieving pressure.”

One man was killed and another was injured in the attacks on four vehicles, which occurred Sunday, July 23, on Interstates 65 and 69.

Blanton had reportedly gotten into an argument with relatives on a hunting trip just prior to the shootings, according to media reports.
