President Bush has nominated Col. Calvin Scovel to be the new Inspector General of the Department of Transportation.
Scovel, a colonel in the Marine Corps, is currently the senior judge in the U.S. Navy-Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals. He previously served as Chief Defense Council of the Marine Corps.
If approved, Scovel would replace acting Inspector General Todd Zinser and would be responsible for auditing and inspecting the department for instances of waste, fraud and abuse.
