Anyone looking to buy biodiesel in the Las Vegas area has just hit the jackpot.

The Associated Press reported that Sinclair Oil Co. has become the first company to offer biodiesel at the retail level in the Las Vegas area. On Wednesday, June 21, the company began selling biodiesel at 16 of its 30 locations in the area.

Gary Weinberg, sales manager for Haycock Petroleum, Sinclair's supplier in southern Nevada, told The AP that Las Vegas is a test market for Sinclair.

Company officials said in a news release that it plans to replace 250,000 gallons of diesel a year in Las Vegas with biodiesel.

Sinclair currently offers a 2 percent biodiesel blend at retail outlets in Minnesota and North Dakota, The AP reported.
