A Pennsylvania-based trucking company is being sued for allegedly refusing to hire women drivers.

On Friday, March 31, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed suit in federal court against Pitt Ohio Express Inc., which is based in Pittsburgh.

According to The Associated Press, the company is being accused of hiring male job candidates as truckers over women who were equally or more qualified – a pattern that has allegedly been taking place since 1997.

The suit represents more than 25 female job applicants, The AP reported.
