Biofuel company opens second truck stop in Mississippi

Earth Biofuels Inc., the company that sells fuel under the BioWillie brand name, has opened a second biodiesel truck stop and service station in Grenada, MS.

According to a press release, this is the second such station in that state. The first one near Jackson, MS, opened more than a year ago.

State Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith, D-Brookhaven, and State Sen. Perry Lee, R-Mendenhall, were in attendance at the grand opening on Tuesday, March 28. Also there were Willie Nelson and actor Morgan Freeman. Both performers serve on the board of directors for Earth Biofuels.

This marks the second big event for Earth Biofuels this week. Monday, the company announced that it is going to open a biodiesel production plant in Durant, OK, on April 2.

The plant will open with 40 employees and is expected to produce 10 million gallons of biodiesel a year, according to a news release.
