Another former Chicago city worker has pleaded guilty to federal charges for his connections with the city’s scandal-ridden Hired Truck program.

On Thursday, March 2, Frank Cannatello, a former worker with the city’s Water Department, admitted to making false statements to federal investigators. According to the Chicago Tribune, Cannatello said he had no involvement with FRC Trucking when asked in September 2005, even though he had helped establish the company.

Cannatello’s sentencing is scheduled for May. He could receive up to six months in federal prison for his charges.

To date, 44 individuals have been charged in the ongoing federal investigation into Hired Truck. Thirty people have pleaded guilty or have been found guilty, including 17 city workers, and 21 people have already been sentenced, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
