Kenworth to sponsor George Thorogood, Jason Aldean at MATS

George Thorogood will headline Kenworth Truck Company’s 18th annual “Trucker Appreciation Concert” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 24, at the 2006 Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, KY.

George Thorogood has performed more than 3,000 live shows. Among the band’s hits are “Bad to the Bone,” “Move it on Over,” “Born to be Bad,” “Get A Haircut” and “American Made.”

A series of hit albums includes“Maverick,” “Thorogood Live,” “Born to Be Bad,” “Let’s Work Together,” “Boogie People,” “Collection,” “Haircut,” “The Baddest of,” “Rockin’ My Life Away” and “Anthology.”

Last year, a CD covering Thorogood and his band’s 30 years in the business was released in recognition of their many musical achievements.

Newcomer Jason Aldean is scheduled as the opening act. In 2005, Aldean’s self-titled debut album quickly went gold selling 500,000. The album features the Top 10 smash hit, “Hicktown,” which became the No. 1 music video on Country Music Television. His new follow-up single, “Why,” is rapidly moving up the charts.

The Kenworth concert is scheduled in Freedom Hall, which is part of the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center.

Complimentary George Thorogood concert tickets will be available to CDL holders only – limit of two tickets per person. Tickets, while supplies last, will be distributed in the South Hall Lobby Booth No. 2 on both Thursday, March 23, starting at 1 p.m., and again on Friday, March 24, starting at 10 a.m.
