William Meringola and his daughter are millionaires after Meringola, a
retired trucker from Geneva, NY, used numbers from a fortune cookie to select
his numbers on a lottery ticket.
The New York Lottery called Meringola’s six lucky numbers on Nov. 9 for
a $13 million prize.
Meringola, 80, and his daughter, Christine Baker, 57, opted for a lump
sum payment of $6.74 million – which they will split. They told lottery
officials they intend to spend the money on family.
