Virginia Port creates security hotline for Hampton Roads area

| Wednesday, July 13, 2005

Officials with the Port of Virginia are asking truckers in the area to help watch for potential security problems.

To help secure the port – which is the second largest on the East Coast – local law enforcement and the Joint Terrorism Task Force have created a toll-free security hotline number. The line is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Samuel Bryant Jr. a representative for the task force, told WAVY-TV that the line should be used whenever anyone see suspicious activity around the Hampton Roads ports.

If you are near Port of Virginia and see anything that doesn’t belong, call 1-866-328-3680.
