A truck driver near Kansas City, MO, could have been killed Sunday when a heavy object was thrown from an overpass and shattered his truck’s windshield.

According to media reports, driver Danny Coffman was traveling on Interstate 435 near North Agnes, MO, on June 26 when an object from the overpass came crashing through his windshield. He was hit by some broken glass, but had no major injuries.

“If there was anybody beside me, (they) probably would have gotten hit and probably killed with a big truck hitting the car,” Coffman told KMBC-TV.

Sgt. Dan Green of the Missouri Highway Patrol told Land Line that no arrests have been made in the case, and the object that hit the windshield has not been found or identified.

“The driver – after it hit – said it took him two miles to get stopped. That thing could be anywhere between the overpass and the next two miles down the road,” Green said. “Whatever the object was, we haven’t been able to find it.”
