Just weeks after its $1.37 billion acquisition of USF Corp., Yellow Roadway Corp. announced it will close USF Dugan, a regional carrier, effective July 8.

According to The Kansas City Star, the Wichita-based USF Dugan’s operations center will be replaced by other regional carriers run by Yellow’s newly formed YRC Regional Transportation moniker, including USF Holland, USF Beltway and USF Reddaway.

Dugan has approximately 2,300 employees, including 1,900 drivers and dock workers, Jim Staley, YRC president, told The Star. Staley said the company does not yet know how many employees will remain with USF, but encouraged them to apply for jobs with the incoming YRC company.
