NAST season kicks off with The Great Darke County Truck Show

The first show of the National Association of Show Trucks season – The Great Darke County Truck Show held June 10-12 in Greenville, OH – wrapped up with some new names leading the standings for the coveted Truck-Lite trophy.

Leading the standings for the 2005 season’s Truck Lite trophy are Pierre and Kerry Lee Cinq-Mars followed by Danny Mizer and Rod Obbink. Less than four points separates first from third place in the overall standings after the first show.

The first NAST show of the 2005 season brought out three trucks early on June 9 – and they were all antiques.

Showing on the first day were Jay Bumpus, with his 1966 Autocar; John “Gator” Bumpus with his 1963 Pete; and Neil Finegan Jr. with his 1974 Pete cabover. Later in the day more arrived and by Saturday morning that brought the total number of competitors to 20.

Best of show winners were Steve Lewis with “Bogies Express” for Best of Show – Combo; Pierre Cinq-Mars Best of Show – Bobtail; and Ron Baird non-working best of show.
