A South Dakota trucking company and its president pleaded guilty June 7 in U.S. District Court to felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from an attempted cover-up of HOS violations.
Michael L. Walsh, president of Action Carrier Inc. of Sioux Falls, SD, entered a guilty plea on felony charges of causing a truck driver to falsify logbook entries in order to conceal HOS violations, according to a Department of Transportation Office of Inspector General press release.
Walsh also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of obstruction of justice for refusing to allow an FMCSA inspection possession of a file during a compliance review inspection.
Sentencing is set for Sept. 6.
