Fuel stolen from truck parked at hotel

| Tuesday, May 17, 2005

After a good night’s sleep at a Lebanon, MO, hotel, an Oklahoma trucker hopped in his rig ready to head out, only to find his truck more than a few gallons lower on diesel.

Victor Varley of McCloud, OK, stopped at the Holiday Inn Express in the southwest Missouri town at about 10 p.m. Friday, May 13. When he was ready to hit the road at about 6 p.m. the next day, Varley noticed he only had a quarter-tank of fuel.

The problem is he had a full tank the night before. Varley estimated for police that more than 60 gallons were siphoned from the tank.

Police do not have any suspects or eyewitnesses of the incident.
