First Latino truck show coming in October

The Truck Show Latino, the first truck show specifically targeting the Hispanic owner/driver market in the United States, has been scheduled for mid-October in Southern California.

Newport Communications Group, publishers of Heavy Duty Trucking and Roadstar magazines, and Independent Trade Show Management LLC, producers of The Truck Show-Las Vegas, have teamed to produce the event.  It will be held Oct. 13-15, 2005, at the Fairplex in Pomona, Calif.

Transporte Latino, the only trucking magazine written in Spanish as an original publication (not a translation) serving the Hispanic owner/driver market in the United States, is a marketing partner with the producers.

According to Roger Sherrard, president of Independent Trade Show Management, the show’s Southern California locale boasts the nation’s largest Hispanic population. It will feature bilingual exhibits and Hispanic-owned big rigs.

“The Hispanic/Latino truckers as a group are well-established in trucking, have strong entrepreneurial spirit, work hard and enjoy their involvement in trucking,” Sherrard said.
