Tammy Bockwoldt, 44, and Loren Bockwoldt, 49, of Durant, IA, died in a highway accident March 12 in Arizona. Tammy Bockwoldt was the exhibits manager for one of the trucking industry’s favorite events, the Truckers Jamboree, held every July at the Iowa 80 Truckstop in Walcott, IA.

According to police reports, the accident occurred at about 9:50 p.m. while the Bockwoldts were traveling north in a Ford pickup truck on Interstate 17 north of Phoenix.

The Muscatine Journal reported that a tractor-trailer apparently tried to pass the Bockwoldt vehicle on the left side and struck a trailer they were pulling behind them. The impact pushed their vehicle into the side of a mountain, and the semi struck the pickup.

The Department of Public Safety is still investigating the crash. Steve Volden, the press officer for the department, told Land Line charges had not been filed against the truck driver, pending determination of the cause of the accident.
