The Transportation Security Administration has established a
new Web site to provide more information for hazmat endorsement applicants. At www.hazprints.com you will be able to submit your application, pay for your application, and
obtain directions to a fingerprinting station nearest you.
As of Jan. 31, CDL holders seeking a hazmat endorsement for
the first time must undergo a fingerprint-based background check. Drivers who
are renewing their hazardous materials endorsements and those who are
transferring the endorsements from one state to another do not have to undergo
a fingerprint-based background check until May 31.
