A Tennessee truck driver remains in critical condition after being injured in the early hours of Jan. 3 while walking through parking lot of the Pilot Travel Center on the Harrisburg Pike, Carlisle, PA.

Fifty-six-year old Montgomery McCreary of Castalian Springs, TN, was found around 7 a.m. with his leg nearly severed and a head wound.

Middlesex Township Police Sgt. Steven Kingsborough told Land Line that McCreary is still unconscious and “fighting for his life” in the trauma center at Hershey Medical Center.

“The info that we have so far is that McCreary was walking from the building of the truck stop back to his truck which was parked in the rear row when he was struck,” said Kingsborough.

“He was carrying a plastic coffee cup and a plastic umbrella with the American flag design on it. He left the building at 0645 hours and the emergency call was received for help by police and EMS at 0700 hours. Indications show he was struck by a large truck with tandem axles that was either entering or leaving the truck stop parking lot.”

If anyone witnessed the accident, please contact the Middlesex Township Police Department in Carlisle at (717) 249-7191.
