J.B. Hunt, the
founder of the motor carrier that bears his name, will retire from his position
as senior chairman and a member of the company’s board of directors Dec. 31,
the company announced recently.

Dec. 31 is Gene George, 82, an original investor and founding director of the
Hunt said in a
statement that his wife and son would remain on the board to represent his
family’s interests in the company.
Transport Services, based in Lowell, AR, is a truckload carrier with nearly
10,000 tractors in its fleet operating in the United States, Canada and Mexico,
as well as numerous leased owner-operators.
