Tennessee DOT to discuss I-40 interchange at meeting

| 12/13/2004

The Tennessee Department of Transportation has scheduled a public hearing Dec. 16 to discuss a proposed interchange on Interstate 40 in the east central part of the state.

According to a department news release, the proposed project would provide a new interchange on I-40 at Buttermilk Road, mile marker 360, near the Roane Regional Business and Technology Park. The project includes an auxiliary lane in each direction between the existing Buttermilk Road interchange, Exit 360, and the state Highway 95 interchange, Exit 364.

Plans call for the existing eastbound truck rest area to be eliminated.

The meeting will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 16 at Eaton Elementary School, 423 Hickory Creek Road, Lenoir City. TDOT representatives will be attending and the public can ask questions and make comments. For directions, click here.
