A veteran trucker reported missing by his wife and company was found dead in his truck Tuesday, Aug. 24.

According to Tracy Schrock with Circle S Transportation, Houston was found dead in his truck at a truck stop near Waynesboro, VA. While she did not have a lot of details, she said foul play was not immediately suspected. Schrock thanked everyone who helped in the search for Houston.

John Houston, 53, of Winchester, VA, didn’t deliver his load of frozen chicken in Bridgewater, VA as expected on Friday, Aug. 20. He last talked to his wife, Joan, at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug.19, and picked up his load in Monterrey, TN a couple hours later.

Houston has talked to Joan every morning for most of the 20 plus years they’ve been married and never missed a call – until Friday morning. He was supposed to call and wake his wife so she could go to work. The call never came.
