A veteran trucker has been reported missing by his wife and company. Various law-enforcement agencies have turned up little information on his disappearance.

John Houston, 53, of Winchester, VA, didn’t deliver his load of frozen chicken in Bridgewater, VA, as expected on Friday.

Houston has been with Circle S since February and has never missed a load or pickup, according to a company spokeswoman.

He last talked to his wife, Joan, at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, and picked up his load in Monterrey, TN, a couple of hours later.

Houston has talked to Joan every morning for most of the 20-plus years they’ve been married and never missed a call – until Friday, Aug. 20. He was supposed to call and wake his wife so she could go to work. The call never came.

According to Tracy Schrock with Circle S, Joan has filed a missing persons, and not much has happened since. The only information they’ve gotten so far from the investigation is that signals from Houston’s cell phone have been received in both the Verona, VA, and the Wayneboro, VA, areas. His fueling records do not show any activity since Aug. 19.

Houston was driving a red Peterbilt, unit number 121, with a white Circle S logo, and white reefer, unit 140.

If you have information regarding Houston, call the Winchester, VA, Police Department at (540) 662-4131or Circle S (540) 327-5614.
