U.S. Transportation Secretary Norman Y. Mineta is scheduled to visit the Woodrow Wilson Bridge construction project in Alexandria, VA, April 13 to show off new technologies available for building better and safer roads, according to the Department of Transportation.

He’ll also discuss administration support for the development and use of road-building technologies that save time and money, DOT said.

Mineta's visit will include a tour of life-size displays of real bridge decks, rapid-setting concrete that pours like water, pavement pieces that snap together like building blocks, and other new solutions for better road-building, followed by a boat tour of the Wilson Bridge project to highlight some of the new technologies being used on the bridge.
