The average U.S. retail
price of diesel fuel increased to
$1.504 from the previous average of $1.486, the Department of Energy reported,
marking a four-week rise.
The highest average prices are in California, at $1.681 a
gallon; on the West Coast, where the price is $1.635; and in New England, where
the price is $1.649. The lowest prices are on the Gulf Coast, at $1.457, and in
the Lower Atlantic region, where the average price also is $1.457.
Other average prices: the Central
Atlantic region, where the price is $1.621; the Rocky Mountain region, where
the price is $1.527; $1.476 in the Midwest; and $1.515 on the East Coast.
