Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Office of Research
and Technology is hosting workshops in November and December to
identify research topics that should be investigated in order to
improve commercial motor vehicle safety, security and productivity.
will also update participants on its ongoing research activities,
including a discussion of how past stakeholder input is being incorporated
into the agency’s research activities.
the federal government's chief commercial vehicle safety agency,
FMCSA focuses on saving lives and reducing injuries by helping to
prevent crashes involving large trucks and motor coaches,” the agency
said in a statement. “FMCSA currently is working to reduce the number
of fatalities associated with commercial vehicle crashes to 1.65
fatalities per 100 million miles driven.”
workshops will be held in the following locations:
- Nov. 20,
2003 - Denver, Embassy Suites Hotel Denver Gateway Airport South.
- Dec. 3,
2003 - Baltimore, Renaissance Harbor Place Hotel.
workshops will begin at 9 a.m. and will adjourn at about 4 p.m.
