OOIDA tour truck schedules stop for Make-A-Wish Foundation benefit

The America’s Truck Wash & Chrome annual truck show takes place Aug. 15-17, 2003, in Wheeling, WV. For the 11th year, the show is dedicated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Woody and Paula Chambers will be there with OOIDA’s tour truck, the Spirit of the American Trucker.

Truckers are invited to stop by for a cup of coffee. New members and members who need to renew their memberships can sign up at the display truck for the reduced price of only $25 – a savings of $20 off the regular price.

Last year, more than 100 trucks competed for trophies and other prizes in the three-day event, and area Make-A-Wish children enjoyed good music, good food and the chance to see some of the most beautiful rigs in the country. The winning trucks from the truck show will appear in the America’s Truck Wash & Chrome 2004 calendar, which is sold to raise more money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The event and calendar raised about $40,000 last year to make wishes come true for the Make-A-Wish children.

“The trucking industry stands very tall when we come together to bring joy to kids who struggle with everyday tasks and yet refuse to yield to defeat,” says Carol Watson of America’s Truck Wash & Chrome.
