Nevada tells car drivers to safely share the road

| Wednesday, August 06, 2003

The Nevada Department of Public Safety has issued a series of tips for car drivers about sharing the road safely with trucks, The Nevada Appeal reported recently.

In a phone survey conducted earlier this year, the department found that while the majority of Nevada residents think truckdrivers are safe drivers, most feel anxiety when driving near a truck, the newspaper reported.

Many of the tips stressed trucks’ many blind spots, as well as the larger distance they need to stop in emergency situations.

From July 1 through Oct. 26, the department will carry out a safety campaign titled "Keep Nevada Trucking: Avoid the No-Zone.” The effort is designed to educate motorists on safer driving.
