Diesel prices slip a bit

The national average, at-the-pump diesel price slumped to $1.420 a gallon from the previous reported average price of $1.423, the Energy Information Administration reported June 30.

The highest price in the nation was in California, at $1.602 a gallon.

The dollar-fifty mark remained steady in New England, where the price is $1.563; the Central Atlantic region, where the price is $1.535; and on the West Coast, where the price is $1.556.

The dollar-thirty mark held on the Gulf Coast, at $1.364; the Lower Atlantic region, at $1.368; and the Midwest, where the price is $1.398.

The dollar-forty per-gallon level continued in the Rocky Mountain region, where the price is $1.455; and on the East Coast, where the price is $1.427.
