Diesel down 6 cents

According to figures released by the Department of Energy's Energy Information Administration March 31, the national average diesel price dropped 6 cents last week to $1.602 per gallon. Prices have dropped 9.5 percent the past three weeks.

The highest rate is in New England, where the average price is $1.823; and in the Central Atlantic region, where the average price is $1.796.

The remaining regions' prices per gallon are as follows: $1.724 on the West Coast; $1.692 on the East Coast; $1.735 in California; $1.526 in the Midwest; $1.635 in the Lower Atlantic states; $1.529 on the Gulf Coast; and $1.672 in the Rocky Mountain region.
