truckers and their family members were part of a nationwide, on-going
search for undiscovered music talent within the transportation industry
at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, KY.
Out of 18 entrants, a panel of judges chose five winners: Chrissy
Kelley, driver for Werner Enterprises; Marshall Madison, former
trucker dedicated full time to his music career; Bobby Huckaby,
driver for Tonapah Joe's Truck Stop in Arizona; Jeff Lofollette,
driver for Kennedy Trucking of Carrollton, KY; and Kris Pierce,
a former dispatcher and son of a 30-year trucker from Eminence,
Winners will have two songs each placed on a compilation of original
songs and distributed nationwide. They also are invited to showcase
their talents and sell their own personal projects along with the
Gear Jammer Records compilation at the next two talent searches
at Waupun, WI, Trucking Jamboree, Aug. 8-9, and the Great American
Trucking Show, Sept. 26-28 in Dallas, TX.
Emcee for the talent search event was award-winning artist Kenny
Robbins, who opened the show each day along with Kenneth 'Otis'
Junkin of Mayberry USA and singer/actress Laura McCray. Paul Anthony
and Paul Bedard of the Paul Anthony Band out of Florida performed
some of their original tunes. Steve Tviet, AMG's recording specialist
and co-founder, ran the sound to make certain everyone on stage
The judges were Diana Davis of OverDrive Radio; Paul Bedard and
Paul Anthony of the Paul Anthony Band; Don Bradford, well-known
gospel songwriter; Laura McCray, former Miss Alabama Cinderella
1997; and Kenneth Junkin, Otis impersonator of famed Mayberry USA.
