Loosened teen driver restrictions pass Georgia House

The Georgia House has voted for a bill that would loosen restrictions on some younger drivers who have lost their licenses due to speeding violations.

HB185 passed the House March 5 by a vote of 165-2. It now moves to the Senate, where it has been assigned to the Transportation Committee.

The law would apply to drivers 18-21 years of age who have lost their licenses. Those drivers can apply for a limited license that allows them to drive to and from work and school.
