Diesel hits $2 mark in New England; $1.771 national average

According to figures released by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration March 10, the national average cost of diesel fuel per gallon this week rose to $1.771 from last week’s average price of $1.753.

The highest rates are in New England, where the price is $2.001; and in the Central Atlantic, where the average price is $1.959.

The remaining regions' prices per gallon are as follows: $1.886 on the West Coast; $1.815 on the East Coast; $1.866 in California; $1.738 in the Midwest; $1.737 in the Lower Atlantic states; $1.697 on the Gulf Coast; and $1.782 in the Rocky Mountain Region.
