Speed limit bill sent back to committee in Idaho

| 3/10/2003

A bill regulating speed limits on state highways as they pass through cities has been sent back to committee.

HB114 would prevent local governments in Idaho from setting speed limits on state highways that pass through their boundaries. Under the bill, the state DOT would set the speed limits.

Officials from a number of Idaho cities have said they oppose the measure.

According to a spokeswoman at the Legislature, the House, instead of scheduling the bill for a final vote, sent it back to the Transportation Committee.
