A preliminary vote on a bill that would transfer funds from mass transit to highway construction in Colorado has been delayed.

The vote in the Colorado Senate on SB74, sponsored by Senate President John Andrews, R-Centennial, was scheduled for Feb. 26. According to the legislative Web site, it is now scheduled for March 7. The final Senate vote on the bill has been delayed twice.

The bill would shift millions of dollars from the Regional Transportation District to highway construction, according to The Denver Business Journal. The money is paying, in part, for a massive light rail project in the Denver metropolitan area. The bill is scheduled for a preliminary vote in the Senate Feb. 26.
