Joplin, MO-based carrier is rolling into the future with
real-time info on trucks and drivers. Aether Systems Inc.,
a provider of wireless and mobile data systems, announced
Feb. 19 that Contract Freighters Inc. (CFI) had agreed to
equip its entire fleet of 2,400 trucks with Aether MobileMax.

begin working immediately to integrate MobileMax into CFI's
MobileMax uses a multimode system that automatically switches
between land-based and satellite communications without driver
or dispatcher intervention to ensure complete coverage and
more cost-efficient communications. In addition, MobileMax
transmits dispatch and data messages and GPS position reports.
