would increase from $20 to $35 under a proposal by the state’s
governor, The Des Moines Register reported Feb. 11.
Gov. Tom Vilsack’s plan would increase fines from $60 to
$100 on highways with a 65 mph speed limit. But speeders’ liabilities
wouldn’t end there; surcharges and court costs would add
to the price of a lead foot as well.
