Nighttime truck ban study proposed in NH

| Monday, February 03, 2003

New Hampshire state Rep. Betsy Shultis (D-Portsmouth) has introduced a bill calling for a pilot study about restricting large truck traffic after the sun goes down on Ocean Road and Peverly Hill Road in Portsmouth.

The proposed study would collect and analyze data to determine the differences in traffic volume, total number of trucks and noise levels as a result of restricting large trucks from these roads. The study would be conducted from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. from March 1, 2004, through June 1, 2004.

HB272 was scheduled for a House public works committee hearing Jan. 28.
