A 33-year-old trucker apparently committed suicide in the cab of his tractor-trailer over the holiday weekend, The Summit County, CO, Sheriff's Office said in a release.

The trucker's co-workers were alerted when he did not pick up a load in Las Vegas as scheduled, sheriff's officials said.

The man was found by another trucker who worked for the same company at about 8 p.m. Dec. 27 in a parking area along the westbound lanes of I-70 west of the Eisenhower Tunnel, according to a report in The Summit Daily News. The west entrance of the tunnel is seven miles northeast of Dillon, CO.

The local coroner told the newspaper the man died at roughly 10 a.m. Thursday after hanging himself with a belt in the sleeping cab. He did not leave a note.

The trucker's name and the name of his company were not released so officials could notify his next of kin. He was carrying a Colorado driver's license.
