Transportation Department is making plans to fix more than five
miles of the highway - from I-75 to Center Road - near Flint, The
Flint Journal reported. It would be the first major facelift
for that stretch of the road since it was built in the late 1960s.
MDOT is asking
the Genesee County Metropolitan Alliance to authorize moving the
project from 2005 to summer 2003 at its meeting Dec. 18, a change
that is expected to be approved, according to the newspaper.
