Cummins Inc. announced on Sept. 6, it's now offering three extended-coverage plans for its 2002 ISX and ISM engines in addition to its base warranty. The company says buyers now can obtain total coverage from fan hub to flywheel, including all cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and Variable Geometry Turbocharger components.

"We're offering these comprehensive Cummins extended coverage plans to give fleet owners and owner-operators complete confidence in our '02 ISX and ISM engines," said Tom Kieffer, executive director of marketing for Cummins. "These plans have been designed to fit every application and budget, and are backed by the Cummins parts and service network."

The Cummins base warranty already includes, at no additional cost: two-year/250,000-mile total coverage; full parts and labor on warrantable failures; travel or towing throughout entire base engine warranty period; consumables; injectors covered for two years or 125,000 miles; all cooled EGR subsystem components and VG Turbo.

The three Cummins extended coverage plan options also available range from three to five years, with prices from $800 to $1,800.

"We are ready for October 2002," said Christine Vujovich, vice president of environmental policy and product strategy. "Cummins has never wavered from its commitment to our customers to have the most reliable product available to meet the EPA deadline."
