| Wednesday, September 04, 2002

The Great American Trucking Show opens its 4th consecutive year on Sept. 6-8 in Dallas. OOIDA will again join exhibitors and attendees. This year the OOIDA truck also will be on the grounds and open for tours. Board members Woody and Paula Chambers will be on hand to answer questions about the organization and the trucking industry.

Last year more than 35,000 industry professionals representing every state and 30 countries visited GATS. There will be free seminar programs, industry networking, a recruitment pavilion and the Internet and technology pavilion. Also included will be special events, giveaways, and a Pride & Polish "Big Rig" truck beauty contest.

On the lighter side, Singer Eddy Raven will be available to sign autographs on Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Midnight Cowboy's booth in the lobby as you enter the show. Friday's 6:30 p.m. concert features Tracy Byrd. For fun, have an autograph signed by one of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders at booth #1608 on Saturday. John Michael Montgomery performs at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

If you plan on attending the show, be sure and stop by the OOIDA booth (#2501) and say hello.
