Carroll Fulmer family purchases namesake

The Carroll Fulmer family has announced the buy back of their trucking company namesake from the Transit Group of Atlanta. The company is to be managed by the Fulmer family, including original owners, Carroll and Barbara Fulmer.

The deal to form Carroll Fulmer Logistics Corp reportedly was for $17.2 million. "We are an old company with new ideas and a new attitude," said Carroll Fulmer in a released statement. "We are proud to have the enthusiasm of a new company that will make us a competitive force in the industry."

The Fulmer's built Carroll Fulmer and Co. to a $70 million a year trucking entity before selling the company to the Transit Group in 1997. Servicing 48 states and Canada, Carroll Fulmer Logistics Corp. employs company drivers and owner-operators and has multiple divisions, including dedicated/logistics, intermodal, reefer and van.
