Missouri now looks at toll road option for road funding

With the failure of Proposition B on Tuesday's Missouri ballot, the state's officials are looking for other ways to generate revenue for the roads. Highway commissioners announced Thursday they are looking into toll roads as a means.

To do that, Missouri voters would have to OK an amendment to the state constitution that they've already said no to twice.

The measure that failed Tuesday would have raised the gasoline and fuel tax by 4 cents and sales tax by a half cent. Officials estimated it would have generated $483 million for roads and bridges.
