The second workshop held by the Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) to help fleet managers and truckers recognize and intercept in-transit hijackers from using trucks for terrorist purposes is scheduled for Sept. 18.

The next one-day open seminar, put on by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police's Operation Pipeline/Convoy, will be for Northern Alberta fleets. It will be Sept. 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Edmonton German Canadian Cultural Association at 8310 Roper Rd.

Registration is due by Sept. 13. The training is free, but there is a $15 fee charged to cover the cost of lunch.

The U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and Mullen Transportation are all partners in the seminar. For more information, call the AMTA at (403) 243-4161.
