Repairs to close stretch of Portland's I-84 for two weekends

Road crews are scheduled to repave a five-mile stretch of I-84 in Portland, OR, during two weekends in August. Repair work will close the badly rutted freeway from the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard overpass to the I-205 interchange.

Westbound I-84 lanes will be closed from about 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2 to 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5. Eastbound I-84 lanes will be closed from about 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9 to 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12.

During the closures, westbound I-84 traffic headed to north or southbound I-5 will be rerouted via I-205 around the construction. Travelers driving north or southbound on I-5 to eastbound I-84 also will be rerouted on I-205.
