A Canadian truckdriver's bravery was credited Sunday with saving the lives of two women trapped in a fiery crash before flames engulfed the car and killed their three companions. Both women were taken to a nearby hospital and are expected to survive.

The accident on Highway 401 near Woodstock, Ontario allegedly occurred when a speeding car carrying five people hit the back wheels of a semi, spun out and was struck by another truck. The car then caught fire.

Trucker Martin Baumber came upon the scene moments later. "There's five people in a car dying and I knew it was a matter of seconds," he later told news reporters. "The flames were all over the doors and I just grabbed what I could. I just did what I could."
