A Kansas police officer and member of the FBI drug task force was fired Monday, July 15, after slamming into the rear of a tractor-trailer over the weekend. The accident occurred when he was apparently driving while intoxicated, according to a published report.

Edwardsville Police Sgt. Jim Marble reportedly was off duty last Friday night when his vehicle struck an eastbound semi that had stopped to make a turn on Kansas 32 near Edwardsville. He reportedly was driving a vehicle issued through the FBI drug task force.

The trucker was not injured. Marble was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.
