Ohio Turnpike implements new special permit fee

| Wednesday, July 03, 2002

On Monday, the Ohio Turnpike Commission began implementing a restructuring of its fee schedule for special permits. The revisions only affect commercial vehicles that are over-dimensional or hauling explosives.

Over-dimensional vehicles are defined as over-length, over-height, over-width and/or over-weight. According to the OTC, the intent in revising the fee schedule is to simplify the special permit procedure.

As a result of the new fee schedule, some truckers will see an increase in their total permit fee, while others will not and still others will see a reduction. For the new summary of fees, visit www.ohioturnpike.org or call (440) 234-2081.
