Road crews will shut down a portion of I-94 near Detroit this weekend. The closure will occur between I-96 in Detroit and I-696 in St. Clair Shores from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Eastbound I-94 traffic will be detoured onto eastbound I-96, to northbound I-75, to northbound M-3 (Gratiot Avenue), to eastbound M-59, then back to eastbound I-94. In addition, the ramp from eastbound I-696 to westbound I-94 will be closed.

Westbound I-94 traffic will be detoured to westbound I-696, to southbound M-3, to southbound I-75, to westbound I-96, then back to westbound I-94. The state Transportation Department advises drivers looking to avoid the I-94 lane closures in Macomb County to take M-59 to M-3.
